Door Lock Knobs mainly provide protection against theft of the vehicle. Both locking and unlocking of vehicle door from inside is mostly done with help of a latch that has to be turned. Generally, the latch handle is in in the shape of a bar which is tuned.

Basically, there are two ways of setting lock in a car:

• In one case, a horizontal bar represents the locked position and a vertical lock represents unlocked position.
• In the second case, the unlocked position is represented by a horizontal bar and the locked position is represented by a vertical bar.

Types of Door Lock
There are various types of door locks available in the market. Some of them are:

• Shaved door locks
  They provide security to the vehicle and key locks can be opened very easily.
• Remote door locks
  Remote or keyless door lock allows to open the door with a touchpad or remote control, usually attached to the key ring. They don't require any key to open the door.
• Smooth cylindrical door lock knobs
  These car door locks are difficult to unlock with any element and provides better security to the vehicle.
• Door lock "Slim Jim" protection plates
  These protection plates can be attached to locking mechanism in car doors to prevent unlocking of doors by any lockout tool. A Slim Jim tool is a thin piece of metal used to unlock vehicle doors without using any key or lockpick.
• Universal Power Door Lock kits
  These door lock kits are developed to convert manual door locks of any vehicle to power central locking. The entire kit consist of actuators, lock module, wire harness and a complete set installation accessories.
