Radio refers to wireless transmission of signals by modification of electromagnetic waves. Radio can get attached to almost any vehicle just like stereo systems. They serve as a source of entertainment while driving.

Place of installation
Car radio can be mounted anywhere in the car, near the stereo like:
  • Dash
  • Console
  • Windshield
  • Sun visor
Installation of Car Radio
Installation of car radio is easy. Generally, car radio comes with complete installation package. It usually includes the following attachment kits:
  • Brand specific Adapter connecting to compatible receiver
  • Antenna, generally mounting to roof of the vehicle.
  • Adapter Box
  • Cable required to connect radio.
Types of Car Radio
There are mainly two types of car radio available:
  • Pistol grip type radio
  • This type of radio can be held in one hand by the driver just like a hand gun. While driving, the driver can hold the radio in one hand and control steer with the other. This type of radio usually comes in right hand configuration.
  • Stick or Paddle type radio
