Mostly, cars are provided with two pairs of auto mirrors. The driver must always have the knowledge of proper mirror adjustment to suit his driving positions.
Functions of Side View Mirror
- Provides wider view of the horizon.
- Helps the driver to better see the rear left and rear right without turning his head.
- This feature helps the driver when he is about to change a lane left or right.
- Promote safety of the car and passengers.
- They are meant to display the driver, the traffic on the left and right sides of the vehicle.
To give a better view of the left and right side of the car, another type of side view mirror called auxiliary mirror. Because of this unique feature, this mirror helps to avoid frequent accidents. Auxiliary mirror is generally mounted on the top of the side view mirror.
There is another type available called Auto-Dimming Side View Mirror that dims automatically to preserve driver vision. The brighter the glare, the dimmer the mirror becomes.
