Sun Shield
Car Sun Shield
Sunshields are insulated folded heat sheets that help to reduce interior temperature and protect the vehicle's interior, seats and dash from the damaging ultra violet rays from sun and heat that penetrate through the windshield. They are placed against the vehicle's windshield.

Sun shields are also known as heat shields. Each shield has an inner and outer side. The outer side is composed of reflective silver fabric set up over a layer of heat insulating foam. The inner layer and all edges are finished in soft felt to protect the car's interior.

Materials used for making Sunshields
Sunshields consist of a thin film of multiple layers of optically transparent polyester bounded together, which sticks inside surface of the glass. The glass is coated with different durable metals such as copper, chrome, gold, stainless steel, silver and other alloys.

Installation of Sunshields
Installation and removal of sunshield is very simple. Installation comprises of simply unrolling the sunshield and placing it against the windshield of the vehicle. Removal consists of simply removing the sunshield, rolling it up and applying the velcro strip to keep it in right place.

Uses of Sunshield
There are many important uses of sunshields in vehicles. Some of them are:
  • Protect dashboard of the vehicle from damage caused by sunlight leading to fading, peeling, splitting and cracking.
  • Lower the interior temperature of the car.
  • Keep steering wheels cool.
  • Used as a car accessory to reduce sunlight through rear glass.
  • Decrease glare from headlights at night.
  • Reduce solar heat gain and gives a cooling effect to the car.
